The Arkansas Municipal Police Association has announced its endorsement of Senator Tom Cotton (R) for re-election to the U.S. Senate.

His liberal Democrat opponent, Hallie Shoffner, has recently come under fire for saying on camera that she would defund law enforcement agencies like Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) that partner with local Arkansas police and sheriffs.

Hallie Shoffner also donated to a bail fund started by a left-wing activist who was jailed for firebombing Arkansas police vehicles.

Senator Cotton is the only candidate in the race supported by local and national law enforcement organizations.

“I’m very proud to receive the endorsement of the Arkansas Municipal Police Association,” said Senator Cotton. “These officers are the first line of defense in our communities against the scourge of crime and drugs. They put their lives on the line every day for us, and I will always have their back in Washington and Back the Blue.”

In part, the Association wrote:

“The Arkansas Municipal Police Association (AMPA) endorses Senator Tom Cotton for re-election in his bid to continue representing Arkansas in the United States Senate.

Senator Cotton has been consistent in his unwavering support for Law Enforcement and Public Safety as a whole.

From local level public safety all the way to national security, including border security, Tom Cotton has repeatedly gone on record supporting policies, legislation, & funding that helps keep Arkansans safe; And, he follows through with ‘voting’ along the same lines as well.

Senator Cotton has earned the support of all Arkansans who consider the safety of their families as an important issue. The AMPA is proud to support his re-election so he can continue those efforts and asks that you please vote for Tom Cotton, US Senator in the upcoming election.”
